Abstract

This article discusses the work of master craftsmen of the 17th and 18th centuries of Bukhara. The literature of urban artisans was spread mainly in the middle cultural environment, where a sense of humor, the ability to play a trick on others and accept jokes addressed to oneself, and, if necessary, to ridicule evil and cruelly, were highly valued. At times, writers crossed the boundaries of decency and created real obscene things, reaching the point of obscenity. This article examines the work of artisans of the 17th and 18th centuries of Bukhara and shows the existence in the Persian-Tajik literature, along with official literature, of democratic literature, which was the fruit of the creative work of artisan writers. In our opinion, the study of the literary work of artisan poets must be continued, because many of its facets remain unexplored.
