In the article, the national-cultural characteristics of field oaths used in the field of philology, their characteristics and the principle of modernity, the speech genre is studied from the point of view of which discipline, its historical or modern form serves as the object of research, in addition, any type of oath , it is stated that whether it is a historical form or a modern form, it requires to be studied on the basis of specific approaches, the importance of the historical approach to the speech genre of oaths is determined by the sources of the origin and types of oaths, the history of their development.
