This article analyzes satire and humor as an example of Washington Irving’s stories. Factors that create satire and humor are identified in the works. The writer’s works reveal the outwardly invisible, but internally mischievous, petty habits of his characters. The more revealing the laughter, the more its essence is analyzed through examples.
