TECHNIQUES FOR MONITORING AND ASSESSING THE KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES OF STUDENTS IN GEOGRAPHY LESSONS

The characteristics of tracking and evaluating students’ knowledge and abilities during the secondary school geography teaching process are highlighted in this article. An analysis of the current process for monitoring and evaluating students’ academic work is done, and several issues are resolved. Additionally, the pedagogical requirements for testing and assessing of the students’ educational results are also given. The benefits and drawbacks of various assessment techniques, including oral exams and exams based on practical assignments, are discussed. Aspects that should be paid attention to when taking into account the learning outcomes of school students are noted.
