IDEAS ABOUT VISUAL ILLUSIONS: HISTORY AND MODERNITY

Abstract
This article discusses ideas about visual illusions, starting from ancient
times (the views of Plato, Aristotle), continuing with the New Age (the ideas of F.
Bacon), and the connection of these views with modern points of view and some
approaches is given. Explanations of the reasons for these ideas are also given, based
on modern scientific data.
