This article discusses the concept of competence, the essence of socially active civic competence, the relevance of improving the methodology for teaching historical science of Uzbekistan on the basis of modern approaches, methods of forming socially active civic competence of students in the process of teaching a historical subject of Uzbekistan, the critical thinking of students in the development of socially active civic competence based on the «History of Uzbekistan,» the use of effective methods of education of civic activity and moral consciousness.
