Abstract
The work of the contemporary writer Alexei Varlamov (b. 1963) is
one of the brightest phenomena in Russian literature of the late 20th - early 21st
centuries. The writer’s prose in its variety of genres and styles expresses the most
important trends of artistic processes in Russian prose in the second half of the
1980s, as well as at the turn of the 1990s - 2000s.
